As I placed myself in each of their shoes, I thought to myself that there was still missing another point of view. Not often do I come across stories told from the physician’s family’s standpoint. I realized that I fit into this category and was inspired to write about my experiences growing up in a physician’s household. As you read the story, you will notice that I only mention my father’s profession as a doctor, never specifying what kind. Depending on what kind of doctor one is, daily life differs. However, I purposefully omitted this specification to emphasize that despite his vocation shaping his lifestyle, in my eyes he is my father before he is a doctor.”
